Group Support provides strategic and operational services to growing New Zealand businesses including Excel Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, EcoChill and ICE Electrical. We help strengthen systems, reporting and performance across the group brands.

As our reporting needs grow, we’re looking for a motivated Junior Business Analyst to join us on a fixed-term basis initially, with scope to become a permanent role, as we determine the wider business needs. The exposure in this role will offer learning opportunities, ideal for a recent graduate in Business, IT or Data Analytics, or someone wanting to sharpen their existing SQL and BI capability in a commercially focused environment.

You’ll work primarily with Simpro data, transforming operational information into clear, practical insights that support smarter decisions across the business.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Extracting and analysing operational data from Simpro

• Writing and maintaining SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data

• Building and maintaining dashboards and reports (Wink Reports preferred)

• Developing KPI reporting - job profitability, utilisation, WIP and invoicing

• Using advanced Excel to model, validate and analyse data

• Ensuring accuracy, consistency and strong data integrity

• Supporting ad hoc reporting and stakeholder requests

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you will be analytical, detail-oriented and eager to learn. You will enjoy working with data, solving problems and contributing to business improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Basic SQL skills (able to write SELECT statements, joins, aggregations)

• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, lookups)

• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail

• Clear communicator who enjoys solving problems

• Able to quickly learn new systems and tools

Preferred

• Exposure to BI tools or dashboard development

• Experience with Simpro or similar ERP systems

• Wink Reports experience

• A qualification in Business, IT or Data Analytics
